Privacy Policy

BASEN Green Iraq is a solar-energy company operating in the Republic of Iraq. We design, sell, and service residential and commercial solar systems and we run a customer loyalty programme tied to our genuine products.

Account information you provide when you sign up: your phone number (required), first and last name (required), email address (optional), and a password. The password is never stored in plain text — it is salted and hashed before being saved.

One-time passcodes (OTP) sent to your phone number to verify that the number belongs to you. We deliver OTPs through our SMS provider (OTPiq).

Google sign-in data, only if you choose to sign in with Google: your Google email address, your name, and a Google-issued user identifier. We never receive your Google password.

Profile preferences: your chosen language (English, Arabic, or Kurdish-Sorani) and a short label identifying the device you are using.

Location data, only when you grant the permission: your approximate or precise GPS coordinates. We use this to size a solar system based on your local solar irradiance and to help you find the nearest BASEN showroom.

Camera access, only when you open the scanner: we read the serial number printed on a BASEN product and use it to credit loyalty points to your account. We do not store the photos themselves.

Solar calculator inputs: the figures you enter into the calculator (monthly electricity bill, roof area, appliances, etc.) and the resulting system designs and quotations.

Push-notification token: a device-specific identifier issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send order updates, promotions, and points news. You can disable notifications in your phone settings at any time.

Technical data automatically collected when the app talks to our servers: IP address, app version, operating system version, device model, and basic crash diagnostics.

To create your account and to authenticate you on each app launch.

To verify your phone number through OTP.

To run the solar calculator, generate quotations, and save your design history so you can return to it later.

To award and track loyalty points when you scan genuine BASEN product serials, and to let you redeem those points for rewards.

To send you push notifications about your orders, your points balance, and BASEN promotions.

To provide customer support through the in-app WhatsApp channel.

To detect and prevent fraud, including duplicate or fabricated serial scans.

To improve the app — fix bugs, prioritise features, and measure overall performance.

We process your information on the following legal bases: performance of the contract you accept when creating an account; your consent for optional features such as location, camera, and push notifications; our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and free of fraud; and compliance with Iraqi law where applicable.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the parties that help us run the service, and only to the extent necessary:

OTPiq — to deliver the SMS verification code to your phone number.

Google LLC — only if you sign in with Google, to authenticate you and exchange your basic profile information.

Firebase / Google Cloud — to deliver push notifications and to host minimal product analytics.

Apple Inc. — only when you install or update the app from the App Store, subject to Apple's own privacy policy.

Our hosting provider — application servers and database run on a private virtual server we control. Backups may be encrypted and stored at a different location.

BASEN Green Iraq staff — employees who handle quotations, redemptions, and customer support can see the information that is necessary for their role.

Public authorities — when we are legally required to disclose information under Iraqi law or a valid court order.

Our application servers and primary database are hosted on a virtual private server located in Europe and managed by BASEN Green Iraq. Data sent between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

By using the app you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than Iraq. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the level of protection remains consistent with this policy.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within thirty (30) days, except where we are required by law to keep certain records (for example tax records linked to a paid quotation).

Calculator history and saved quotations are kept while your account is active and are removed together with your account.

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, and to withdraw any consent you previously gave (for example for location or push notifications).

You can exercise most of these rights directly inside the app: edit your profile from the Profile screen and toggle permissions in your phone's system settings.

For deletion or for any request you cannot complete in-app, write to [email protected]. We will respond within thirty (30) days.

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: passwords are hashed and salted, all traffic uses HTTPS, sessions use signed JSON Web Tokens, and we bind tokens to your device using a hashed device identifier. Access to the production database is limited to a small number of authorised engineers.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your data, we will inform you as soon as we can and as required by Iraqi law.

BASEN Green Iraq is not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete the account and the associated data.

The app and our website may contain links to third-party services such as WhatsApp, Google, or social-media pages. Those services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
